Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Klas Aberton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Phil Brooks! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks with a lazy takedown attempt and Aberton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Aberton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brooks at a distance.
Aberton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brooks to the mat! Brooks manages to get full guard. Brooks lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Aberton! Aberton is looking to improve his position but Brooks isn't that keen on the idea. Brooks working the ground and pound effectively.
Brooks raining down hammerfists from mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Aberton is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Aberton looks a forlorn figure.
Aberton really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Brooks throwing strikes here but Aberton is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Aberton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Brooks lands a heavy elbow. Brooks is in the full mount, landing strikes. Brooks landing strikes from the mount and Aberton is in trouble! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Aberton is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Aberton and Brooks has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Brooks crashes against the mat.
Brooks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aberton, who protects the arm well. Brooks connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Aberton some visible discomfort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aberton tries to buck Brooks off but Brooks is having none of it. Brooks advances to mount. Aberton is trying desperately to improve position. Brooks working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aberton is desperately trying to improve his position but Brooks has a good base and remains in mount. Aberton swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Brooks working away from the top, dropping strikes. Aberton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Brooks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Brooks working the ground and pound effectively.
Aberton is rocked! Brooks postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Aberton badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Brooks around the waist but Brooks pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Brooks is the winner by TKO! Brooks jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
