Thorne comes to the cage accompanied by Carmina Burana - O Fortuna. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorne thuds a left hand into Silva's body.
Silva fails with the takedown
and Thorne counters with a one-two to the body.
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thorne counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking.
Silva takes one to the side of the head.
Thorne lands the left hand.
Thorne moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva drops his hands momentarily and Thorne takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Thorne fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Silva on the side of the head.
Silva shoots and misses
and Thorne counters with a straight right hand.
Damien Thorne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Silva.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thorne keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Thorne lands a jab to the nose.
Thorne slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Thorne scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Damien Thorne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thorne connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Silva! He's out on his feet! Thorne rushes in and drops Silva with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
