The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds gets a takedown into half guard.
Reynolds stalling away here and it's allowed Cortez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Cortez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reynolds controls the pace.

and Cortez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Reynolds shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cortez's guard.
Cortez wants to stand but Reynolds is controlling the position.

Reynolds has gone for a leg lock! Cortez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Reynolds's guard.

Reynolds controls Cortez momentarily but Cortez frees himself.
Reynolds looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cortez gets to his feet. Reynolds looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Reynolds misses with a takedown attempt
letting Cortez counter with a right hand.
Cortez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tim Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reynolds is breathing heavily.
Cortez lands a front kick.
Cortez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reynolds tries for a takedown but Cortez circles away easily
and Cortez counters with a crisp right hand that drops Reynolds! Cortez lets Reynolds back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Reynolds is rocked!

Reynolds leaves his chin hanging out and Cortez seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Reynolds crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
