Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Winston Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bot Botanovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Winston Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bot Botanovic! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Botanovic moves away. Botanovic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Steel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Botanovic. Steel swinging wildly here.
Steel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Botanovic counters with a good low kick that Steel was not able to check. Botanovic drives through and clinches with Steel against the cage.
Botanovic decides to pull guard. Botanovic controls Steel momentarily but Steel frees himself. Steel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Botanovic is trying to control the position but Steel postures up. Botanovic is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Botanovic keeping moving, preventing Steel from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Botanovic throws a quick inside leg kick. Steel misses with a low kick as Botanovic jumps back. Botanovic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Steel dives in and scores a takedown into Botanovic's guard. Botanovic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steel is one step ahead there. Botanovic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Steel defends well. Steel won't allow Botanovic to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Botanovic is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Botanovic swivels though and keeps the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Steel is stalling in the full guard. Botanovic throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Botanovic trying to keep a closed guard but Steel is proving a slippery customer.
Steel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Steel stopping the sweep attempt from Botanovic. Botanovic keeping moving, preventing Steel from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Winston Steel. Steel misses with a left hand and Botanovic finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Botanovic lands a front kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Botanovic. That's going to slow Steel down. Winston Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick by Steel misses and Botanovic counters with a good low kick that Steel was not able to check.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Botanovic has Steel up against the cage in a clinch.
Botanovic is pushing Steel up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Botanovic manages to break the clinch.
Botanovic moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Steel throws a lazy uppercut
and Botanovic counters with a nice kick to the body. Steel is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A head kick from Botanovic lands but Steel takes it in his stride. Steel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Botanovic counters with a low kick, right behind Steel 's knee. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Botanovic - that will leave a mark!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Botanovic is defended easily by Steel. Botanovic rushes Steel and presses him up against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Botanovic takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Botanovic landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bot Botanovic dominated that round. That's time! Steel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Botanovic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Steel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Botanovic throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Botanovic manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Steel on his heels. He'll look to pass Steel's guard now, I'm sure. Botanovic content to stall in guard here. Botanovic passes Steel's left leg - he's now in half guard. Botanovic is looking for a kimura but Steel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Botanovic to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Botanovic is trying to work for a kimura but Steel is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Botanovic trying to control from half guard but Steel is working away. Botanovic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steel's head. Botanovic with the ground and pound but Steel uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Steel has his foot on Botanovic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Botanovic works his way back into a safe position though. Botanovic advances position into side control! Steel tries to bench press Botanovic off him but Botanovic keeps the position. Botanovic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Steel gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Botanovic is working for a kimura but Steel is defending it quite comfortably.
Botanovic thows a huge punch but Steel dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Botanovic is trying for a kimura here. Steel looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Botanovic wins by kimura!
