PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregores Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Paleface- Helsinki-Shangri-La. Reynolds is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lights Out - Bobby Light. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregores Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Niko Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Reynolds does no damage.

Mendez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reynolds tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mendez is in Reynolds's guard.

Mendez cracks Reynolds with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Mendez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Reynolds has worked his arm free - good work by Reynolds!

Reynolds is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mendez connects with a decent elbow.

That's time! Mendez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Reynolds takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Reynolds throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Mendez feints and as Reynolds raises his hands in defense, Mendez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mendez thows a huge punch but Reynolds dodges it nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gregores Mendez.
I think Mendez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
