Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Opie Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Rasmus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Opie Johns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Rasmus! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasmus scoring well with a low kick there.
Johns buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rasmus misses with a body kick. Opie Johns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rasmus to the mat! Rasmus manages to get full guard. Johns gets to his feet - Rasmus follows without any prompting. Johns dives in and grabs Rasmus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rasmus pushes down on Johns's head and hops out. Rasmus misses with a low kick. Johns pushes Rasmus up against the cage in a clinch. Johns throws an elbow that misses.

Johns displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rasmus up against the cage. Johns has clasped his hands together around Rasmus's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Rasmus is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johns asserts his dominance and retains side control. Johns tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rasmus wants to get back to his feet but Johns drags him back down. Johns has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Rasmus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johns shoots in and bounces Rasmus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Johns looking to pass the guard. Johns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rasmus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johns is controlling him. Rasmus looks gassed! Johns is standing up over Rasmus. Rasmus looks to escape but Johns dives into side control.
Johns is putting a hurting on Rasmus here, landing some big shots from side control. Rasmus is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Johns slows the pace down. Johns stands up.

Johns shoots in for a double leg but Rasmus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Opie Johns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rasmus tries a head kick but it misses.
Johns looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Johns escapes and gets back to his feet. Rasmus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johns. Rasmus scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rasmus throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Rasmus throws a wild body kick that Johns sees coming a mile off. Johns fails to land the takedown. Johns has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rasmus. Rasmus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johns fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rasmus sprawls well initially but Johns persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johns prevents Rasmus from standing back up.
Johns moves nicely into side control. Johns prevents Rasmus from escaping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Opie Johns dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rasmus bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Johns shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rasmus napping and manages to drive through into side control! Rasmus throws Johns to one side and escapes! Johns shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rasmus pinned against the cage. Rasmus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rasmus misses with a body kick. Rasmus delivers a nice body kick. Johns moves out of range as Rasmus throws a body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rasmus looks to land a body kick but Johns moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johns clinches up with Rasmus and pushes him back against the cage. Johns has Rasmus pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Johns pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rasmus tumbling to the mat - Johns dives into Rasmus's guard. Johns won't allow Rasmus to get back to his feet. Johns sitting in guard here, content to control. Rasmus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Johns looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rasmus wriggles free and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Rasmus. Rasmus misses with an attempted mid kick.
Johns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Jonathan Rasmus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johns is defended easily by Rasmus. Rasmus lands with a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasmus tries a head kick but it misses.
Rasmus cracks the inside of Johns's front leg. Rasmus motions for Johns to come forward. Rasmus throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Johns fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Opie Johns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters circling a little - Rasmus finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Rasmus lands a head kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johns takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rasmus. That's going to slow Johns down. Johns avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Rasmus throws a push kick but Johns slaps the foot to one side. Johns shoots for a takedown but Rasmus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rasmus tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Johns fails to land the takedown. Johns shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rasmus sprawls well. Rasmus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johns gets slowly back to his feet. Rasmus throws a front kick aimed at Johns's knee but Johns avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jonathan Rasmus will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Rasmus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johns to score an easy takedown into full guard. Johns is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rasmus keeping full guard, as Johns tries to pass. Rasmus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johns is controlling him. Johns passes into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johns passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rasmus!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasmus tries to buck Johns off but he can't manage it. Opie Johns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Johns takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johns is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rasmus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johns looking to ground and pound but Rasmus is blocking nicely. Rasmus is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rasmus wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Johns has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Rasmus taps furiously! This one is all over!
