The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzpatrick misses with a hook.

Fitzpatrick stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fitzpatrick should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dasilva takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Dasilva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fitzpatrick, pushing him back against the cage.

Dasilva shoots in looking for a takedown but Fitzpatrick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dasilva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fitzpatrick throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dasilva on the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dasilva looks to land a combination but Fitzpatrick avoids it well.

Fitzpatrick feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dasilvas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Oh Dasilva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fitzpatrick waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Dasilva. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Dasilva to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Fitzpatrick drops back looking for a leg! Dasilva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dasilva manages to kick Fitzpatrick off! Fitzpatrick jumps back into Dasilva's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fitzpatrick, as that shot connected.

Dasilva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fitzpatrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dasilva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dasilva is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fitzpatrick's shoulder. That is not cool.

Fitzpatrick wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Dasilva has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Fitzpatrick's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Fitzpatrick is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Dasilva!
