7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Guerra! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guerra forces Thrall back against the cage and clinches. Guerra wants a takedown.
Stalling in the clinch from Thrall.
A left hand lands to the body for Thrall.
Thrall takes an elbow to the temple. Thrall misses with a hook to the ribs.
Thrall taking a breather. Guerra breaks the clinch.
Guerra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thrall sprawls well. Thrall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Guerra gets slowly back to his feet. Guerra shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guerra showed some decent athleticism there. Thrall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Guerra. Guerra trying to control from half guard but Thrall is working away. Thrall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guerra on the ground. Thrall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Guerra scores with a couple of nice shots. Guerra sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Thrall defending well though.

Thrall misses with a hook from the clinch. Thrall throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Guerra with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Guerra effectively controlling the action here. Guerra manages to pull guard.
Thrall is looking to stand up but Guerra won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guerra manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Guerra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Douglas Thrall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Guerra. Guerra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thrall pinned against the cage. Thrall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Thrall tries to clinch but Guerra is having none of it. Guerra blocks a jab. Thrall swats away the attempt to clinch by Guerra. Thrall scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Guerra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thrall's waist but Thrall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guerra off to one side. Guerra shoots in for a double leg but Thrall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerra scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Guerra looks gassed! Thrall is trying to control Guerra's posture but Guerra avoids it. Guerra in side control, throwing shots but Thrall defends. Thrall is looking to reverse the position. Guerra lands a nice forearm strike. Guerra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thrall, who protects the arm well. Thrall seems a little lost for a moment, as Guerra dominates the positioning. Guerra trying to control the position but Thrall is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerra landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Guerra in side control, throwing shots but Thrall defends. Guerra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thrall, who protects the arm well. Guerra cracks Thrall with an elbow. That is naaassty. Thrall avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Guerra. Guerra thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thrall defending against the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Guerra dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Guerra shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guerra showed some decent athleticism there. Thrall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guerra is working away from the top position though. Guerra trying to control the action but Thrall is working from the bottom. Ground and pound from Guerra. Thrall wants to improve his position but Guerra is controlling well.
Guerra is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Thrall has managed to free his arm - good work. Guerra is looking to advance position but Thrall won't allow it. Guerra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra slows the pace down in half guard. Guerra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Guerra thows a huge punch but Thrall dodges it nicely.
Guerra thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thrall's head. Guerra missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Guerra is looking for a kimura but Thrall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guerra to get the leverage. Guerra looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Thrall with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guerra throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Guerra trying to control from half guard but Thrall is working away. Nice strikes from Guerra there. Diego Guerra has got the better of the ground game so far. Thrall is trying to maintain the position but Guerra is very close to passing his half guard. Guerra missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Thrall on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Guerra is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Guerra works his way into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guerra looking to control and managing it successfully. Thrall really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Guerra throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerra thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Guerra landing strikes from the mount and Thrall is in trouble! Guerra looking for a guillotine from mount but Thrall is having none of it. Guerra has hold of Thrall's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Thrall manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Guerra trying to control but Thrall is having none of it. Guerra misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Diego Guerra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Thrall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Guerra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thrall but Thrall pushes him off and we're back to square one. Guerra dives in and grabs Thrall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thrall pushes down on Guerra's head and hops out. Douglas Thrall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Guerra. Guerra scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Guerra working away. Guerra looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Thrall is trying to get back to half guard. Thrall can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra throws a strike aimed at the side of Thrall's head but Thrall avoids it well. Guerra lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Guerra thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Guerra has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Guerra shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Thrall throws a lazy right hand but Guerra sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Thrall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Diego Guerra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Guerra will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Guerra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Horrible takedown by Guerra or perhaps it was just good defense by Thrall which made him look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thrall leaves Guerra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Thrall looks to throw the jab but Guerra is out of range. Thrall lands with a right hand. Guerra shoots in and drives through. Thrall sprawls well. Thrall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Thrall defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Guerra. Guerra defending well as Thrall loads up on a big left hand. Douglas Thrall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Guerra closes the distance and clinches up with Thrall, looking for a takedown. Guerra pushes Thrall against the cage but Thrall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Thrall bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Thrall lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thrall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerra tries to clinch but Thrall is having none of it. Thrall lands a jab to Guerra's midsection. Thrall lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Guerra uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thrall. Diego Guerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thrall scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Guerra doesn't seem bothered though. Thrall wants to clinch. Thrall lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Diego Guerra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Guerra shoots in and drives through. Thrall sprawls well. A swing and a miss from Thrall. Thrall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Guerra. Thrall lands with a good body shot. Thrall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Jab by Thrall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerra shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thrall defends it nicely. Thrall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guerra paws at him with a jab and circles away. Thrall has managed to clinch.
Thrall prevents a takedown attempt there.
Thrall lands a right hand. Thrall can't find room to land a body shot as Guerra controls the action.
Thrall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Guerra blocking some punches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Thrall presses Guerra against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Thrall tries to stall but Guerra uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Thrall is leaning against Guerra and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Maybe Thrall would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Thrall. Douglas Thrall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Thrall on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Thrall has a couple of punches blocked by Guerra.
And that's the end of the fight! Douglas Thrall showed his dominance in that final round. I think Guerra has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
