The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Howlett's guard.
Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howlett swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Howlett lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Man!
Man tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howlett trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Howlett kicks off Man and gets to his feet.
Man throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howlett's waist but Howlett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Man off to one side.

Howlett throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Man stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Man fails to land the takedown.
Nice uppercut lands for Howlett. That snapped Man's head back.
Howlett throws a right and a left that both miss.

Man throws a hook to the side of Howlett's head but Howlett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James Howlett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Man is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Howlett moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Howlett throws a big shot that misses.
Howlett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Man swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Man walks into a stiff left hand from Howlett.
Man shoots in for a double leg but Howlett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Howlett scores with a nice strike.
Man misses with a double jab
and Howlett cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Howlett is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Howlett throws a combination. Man tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Man misses with a hook
and Howlett counters with a left to the body.
Man scores with a hook.
Howlett stuffs the takedown.
Howlett ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Man takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Man steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Howlett.

and Howlett counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
