The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Brown throws a solid leg kick but Rhodes takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brown.
Rhodes closes the distance but Brown moves to the side
and Brown decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rhodes's guard.
Rhodes wants to sweep here but Brown controlling him for the moment.
Brown lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Brown works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rhodes keeps working.
Brown throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Brown moves nicely into side control.
Rhodes seems a little lost for a moment, as Brown dominates the positioning.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rhodes takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Brown misses with the ground and pound.
Rhodes is trying to control Brown's posture but Brown avoids it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Brown has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rhodes!
A nice elbow there by Brown.
It looks like Roddy Rhodes has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rhodes can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brown lands with some strikes.
That has opened up Roddy Rhodes's cut even more.
Brown loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rhodes scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Brown land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Brown stands and salutes the crowd.
