Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierr Lamonte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierr Lamonte is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vitor Belfast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierr Lamonte! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamonte changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Belfast looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Belfast manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Belfast wants to get back to full guard. Lamonte slips a nice elbow through Belfast's hands, connecting with Belfast's forehead. Belfast wants to get back to his feet. Lamonte is looking to pass Belfast's guard but actually Belfast recovers to full guard. Lamonte stands up and waves to Belfast to follow him. Belfast throws a body kick that misses. Belfast displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A nice inside leg kick there by Lamonte. That's going to slow Belfast down. Lamonte drives through with a takedown into Belfast's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfast looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lamonte is one step ahead there. Belfast working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lamonte tries to free his leg and advance position but Belfast is retaining full guard. Belfast has his foot on Lamonte's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lamonte works his way back into a safe position though. Lamonte is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Belfast is trying to control the position but Lamonte postures up. Lamonte stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A cross from Lamonte lands. Lamonte shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Belfast napping and manages to drive through into side control! Belfast is breathing heavily. Lamonte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Belfast has escaped the position, nice work there. Belfast wants to control but Lamonte postures up. Lamonte tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Belfast is looking to regain half guard here but Lamonte keeps moving and retains side control. Lamonte stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfast misses with a takedown and Lamonte counters with a shoot takedown. Belfast fights it but they end up in guard. Lamonte prevents Belfast from getting back to his feet. Lamonte content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lamonte sitting in guard here, content to control. Lamonte tries to free his leg and advance position but Belfast is retaining full guard. Lamonte is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Pierr Lamonte wasn't active enough on the ground. Belfast swinging wildly here.

Lamonte buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lamonte instigates a clinch. Belfast has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Lamonte breaks the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lamonte throws a series of punches but Belfast moves out of range. Belfast fails with the takedown. Lamonte feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierr Lamonte dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lamonte throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lamonte closes the distance and pushes Belfast back into the cage. Lamonte misses with a short punch on the inside. Lamonte breaks from the clinch.

Lamonte uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Belfast. Lamonte tries to clinch up. Lamonte throws a head kick but Belfast moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lamonte fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lamonte is breathing heavily. Belfast shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lamonte but Lamonte pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lamonte chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Belfast can pounce on him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfast throws a front kick that sends Lamonte stumbling back into the cage. Lamonte is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Belfast. A right-left combo lands from Belfast. Lamonte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Belfast shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lamonte counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Belfast! Lamonte with a couple of short strikes. Lamonte controlling his opponent. Lamonte working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lamonte cracks Belfast with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamonte controlling from the full mount. Lamonte raining down shots from the mount! Lamonte goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Belfast turns into him and now he's in Lamonte's guard.
Lamonte is working an open guard so Belfast takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Belfast. Vitor Belfast is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Belfast shoots and misses and Lamonte counters with a nice double leg into guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfast. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lamonte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Belfast wants to stand but Lamonte is controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Belfast escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lamonte gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Belfast wants to stand but Lamonte is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierr Lamonte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Lamonte's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lamonte duly obliges. Lamonte changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Belfast tries to avoid it but Lamonte manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Belfast to the ground. Belfast escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lamonte. Belfast throws a series of strikes that have Lamonte backpedaling.
Belfast lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Belfast. A slapping body kick lands there for Belfast. Lamonte clinches. Belfast is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Belfast wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamonte has him pressed against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Belfast is trying to break the clinch but Lamonte is controlling him. Belfast wants to get back to striking at distance but Lamonte won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfast looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Belfast has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Lamonte jumps guard but Belfast stands there with Lamonte around his waist. Lamonte gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nope, Belfast circles away and we're back to standing. Belfast throws a series of punches but Lamonte avoids them all with ease. Belfast connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Belfast will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfast throws a right hand that Lamonte ducks under and follows up with a left that Lamonte also avoids with ease. The fight moves into the clinch position. Belfast prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lamonte escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Belfast has had enough of the clinch but Lamonte keeps him there for the moment. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lamonte takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Belfast has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Belfast wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamonte has him pressed against the cage. Vitor Belfast has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Belfast prevents a takedown attempt there.

Lamonte walks forward, straight into a front kick from Belfast. Pierr Lamonte is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lamonte fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
