Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gus Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Hope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gus Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tom Hope! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hope shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hope showed some decent athleticism there. Hope throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jackson kicks off Hope and gets to his feet. Jackson takes one to the side of the head.
Hope fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hope circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hope misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jackson.
Hope throws a right and a left that both miss. Hope dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hope shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hope, pushing him back against the cage. Hope lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jackson or not.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson closes the distance but Hope moves to the side and Hope counters with a right hand to the body. Hope fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hope swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hope swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hope throws a nice looking combination but Jackson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hope lands an overhand right. Hope shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hope throws an overhand right that lands on Jackson's shoulder, as Jackson tries to avoid the shot. Tom Hope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hope looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hope misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson feints and then cracks Hope's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hope down. Hope shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hope's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gus Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Hope. Hope falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jackson counters with a good low kick that Hope was not able to check. Jackson tries to clinch up. Hope shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jackson misses with a two punch combination.

and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hope is trying to push Jackson away but Jackson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hope wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hope is pushing Jackson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Jackson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hope backwards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hope's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hope swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hope has a takedown stuffed. Hope thuds a left hand into Jackson's body. Hope swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has Hope backing up. Hope nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes. Hope looks gassed! Hope swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hope letting Jackson take a breather here. Hope misses with a body punch.
Jackson prevents Hope from breaking the clinch. A nice left hand lands by Jackson.
Hope is trying to break the clinch but Jackson is controlling him. Jackson pushes Hope back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hope wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jackson lands with a right to the head. Jackson has Hope pressed against the cage, preventing Hope from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Hope is looking to break free of the clinch but Jackson has double underhooks. Jackson lands on the inside with an uppercut. Jackson slowing the pace effectively. Jackson breaks the clinch.
Hope swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jackson, right into the meat.
Hope misses with a combination
and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hope takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Jackson throws a body kick that misses. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hope paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gus Jackson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hope misses with a looping right. Hope throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hope throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a nice leg kick. Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hope counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that. Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hope! Hope trying desperately to get to his feet.
Jackson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hope is breathing heavily. Hope in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hope manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jackson wants to control but Hope is keeping him busy. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hope is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jackson is controlling him well. Hope parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hope to escape.
Hope really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hope wants to get back to his feet. Hope managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jackson.
Jackson takes a little break here. Hope wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hope parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hope to escape.
Hope takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Jackson is working Hope over with some ground and pound from side control. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hope keeps working. Hope bucks up and tries to throw Jackson off but instead Jackson has got his back! Hope has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Hope is taking damage to the body and head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Hope is doing well to defend. Jackson seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Hope is forced to tap and this one is over!
