Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saint Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Saint Bernard has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Saint Bernard seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard closes the distance but Pereira moves to the side
and Pereira counters with a nice uppercut.
Pereira sizes up Bernard with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Pereira counters with a shoot takedown. Bernard fights it but they end up in guard.
Pereira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pereira stops Bernard from standing up.
Bernard pushes Pereira off and scrambles back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bernard is looking to stand up but Pereira isn't so interested in that idea.
Pereira not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pereira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pereira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michel Pereira was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Pereira counters with a left to the body.
Bernard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pereira swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bernard is breathing heavily.
Pereira lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A right-left combo lands from Pereira.
It looks like Saint Bernard has been cut.
Oooooh!!! Pereira has knocked Bernard down with a huge combo! Pereira steps away and waves a wobbly Bernard back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Pereira lands a nice hook to Bernard's body. Bernard takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pereira misses with the combination.
Pereira throws a good cross that connects.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bernard sprawls well. Bernard wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pereira gets slowly back to his feet.
Saint Bernard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bernard moves in looking to clinch but Pereira pushes him off.
Pereira fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bernard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pereira cracks Bernard with an open hand slap.
Pereira dives in and grabs Bernard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bernard pushes down on Pereira's head and hops out.
Bernard misses with an uppercut
and Pereira counters with a stiff right hand.
Pereira looks to land a combination. Bernard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Pereira connects with a jab.
Pereira throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice jab there from Pereira.
Bernard tries to clinch but Pereira moves away
enabling Pereira to counter with a crisp jab.
Bernard takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pereira is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bernard had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

and Pereira counters with a crisp one two that drops Bernard! Pereira thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bernard to his feet! Bernard is in big trouble!
Bernard is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pereira lands a big right hook! Bernard looks hurt but is still standing! Pereira lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Bernard falls down and Pereira dives in with a huge hammer fist! Bernard's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Pereira runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Michel Pereira!
