Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Dryupp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chaz Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chaz Storm struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Chaz Storm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chaz Storm! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dryupp slaps away a takedown attempt from Storm, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dryupp fails with the takedown. Dryupp shoots in for a takedown but Storm shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Storm shoots in for a double leg but Dryupp sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dryupp decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Storm wants to get back to full guard. Dryupp is trying to control. Storm wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dryupp stalling. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Storm can do anything to dispel that myth. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dryupp is trying to work for a kimura but Storm is defending well.

Dryupp is looking for a kimura but Storm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dryupp to get the leverage. Dryupp prevents Storm from improving his position. Storm is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Storm is defending against the submission attempts here by Dryupp.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dryupp is breathing heavily. Storm is refusing to be controlled, as Dryupp sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Storm escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dryupp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Storm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dryupp defends well. Dryupp trying to control the position from guard on top but Storm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dryupp works over Storm with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dryupp has gone for a leg lock! Storm slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dryupp's guard. Storm wants to control from the top but Dryupp keeps moving. Dryupp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Storm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Dryupp is tightening it up a little... Storm has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Storm reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Storm taps out! nice BJJ there by Dryupp!
