Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Cordoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). East's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hip Hop-Dead Prez. Nick East has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick East! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Cordoza! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cordoza tries to clinch and East counters with a nice uppercut. East throws a push kick but Cordoza slaps the foot to one side. East scores with a nice body kick.
Cordoza closes the distance looking to clinch and East counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. East buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and East counters with a body kick that stops Cordoza in his tracks momentarily. East keeps Cordoza at a distance using the push kick. Cordoza with a poor takedown and East counters with a right hand to the body. East lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cordoza's sensitive parts. Cordoza misses with a left hand and East counters with an inside leg kick. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cordoza crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from East - the referee stops the clock and Cordoza gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says East. Cordoza manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Cordoza shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and East counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cordoza looks gassed! A short left from East. East digs a right hand underneath Cordoza's ribcage. Cordoza let out a lung full of air as it connected. This has been an exciting period of action! Cordoza's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A short right hand to the side of the head by East.

Nick East has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Cordoza. Cordoza is trying to work for a single leg takedown but East pulls him back up using the underhooks. Cordoza breaks from the clinch.

This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Cordoza. East feints and then cracks Cordoza's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cordoza down. East scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cordoza doesn't seem bothered though. East connects with a leg kick. Cordoza looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. East moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Cordoza has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from East. Cordoza's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. East lands with a nice body kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A momentary lapse in concentration from Cordoza enables East to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cordoza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

East throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Cordoza lands with a hook. East tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Cordoza swings widly with a right hand
and East counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. East looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cordoza tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Cordoza looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. East sitting and controlling from the half guard. Cordoza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. East's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Cordoza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cordoza is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cordoza slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

East has Cordoza pressed against the cage, preventing Cordoza from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ronnie Cordoza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cordoza looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Cordoza goes for a takedown in the clinch but East prevents it.
