Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesper Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroshi Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush's entrance music is Tom Sawyer - Rush. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jesper Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hiroshi Sato! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sato misses with a left hand and Rush counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Rush tries to work over Sato's front leg with a kick but Sato checks it. Rush moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Hiroshi Sato has been cut. Sato throws an off balance right hand
letting Rush counter with a right hand. Sato connects with an inside leg kick. Sato just misses with a punch to the body.
Rush swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rush throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sato stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rush manages to avoid it. Rush throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sato tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rush is in Sato's guard. Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sato swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rush prevents Sato from getting back to his feet. Rush controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sato pushes Rush off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sato just misses with a punch to the body.
Sato throws a nice outside leg kick. Rush throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Rush throws a sloppy head kick and Sato moves out of range easily. Rush avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hiroshi Sato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sato counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rush's knee momentarily. Rush tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sato swivels and escapes. Rush misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sato tries to clinch but Rush is having none of it. Rush misses with a straight right. Sato just misses with a punch to the body.
Sato slips a jab and a cross from Rush.

and Sato counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sato misses with a hook from the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sato takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A hook to the body from Rush.
Rush is trying to break the clinch but Sato has him pressed against the cage. Sato is pushing Rush up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Rush has had enough of the clinch but Sato keeps him there for the moment. Sato avoiding damage.
Rush pulls guard effortlessly. Rush trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rush is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Sato has his hands clasped together but Rush extends an breaks Sato's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rush.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jesper Rush!
