Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernado Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mando The (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares comes into the arena with All Of The Lights blaring out of the sound system. Mando The will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernado Tavares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mando The!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The misses with a takedown
and Tavares connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tavares shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. The is trying to defend but Tavares finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The is trying desperately to improve position.
The should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The tries to lock up and control but Tavares gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fernado Tavares dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tavares gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The trying to control the position from guard on top but Tavares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tavares manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now The has Tavares in his guard.
Tavares controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The wants to sweep here but Tavares controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tavares is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Fernado Tavares just wasn't active enough.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fernado Tavares.

Tavares shoots in and gets a takedown into The's guard.

The is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tavares slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Tavares throws a low kick, looking for The's leg but The calmly moves out of range.
Tavares bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fernado Tavares overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tavares has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Tavares takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The wants to hold on but Tavares pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tavares cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Tavares seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down The for as long as he can get away with.
The is squirming around, avoiding Tavares's attempts to control the action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fernado Tavares showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tavares has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
