Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chicharito Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hosking has chosen War Machine as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chicharito Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Hosking! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hosking moves into the clinch. Hosking jumps guard.
Velasquez passes easily into side control. Nice work. Velasquez tries for a kimura but Hosking is defending well. Velasquez connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hosking some visible discomfort.
Velasquez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Velasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Velasquez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hosking, who protects the arm well. Velasquez is looking to take a break and control but Hosking is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

No, Hosking has escaped the position, nice work there. Velasquez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hosking is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hosking is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Velasquez has just dragged him back down to the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is looking to take a break and control but Hosking is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Velasquez working the ground and pound but Hosking is defending the strikes. Hosking really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hosking keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Velasquez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hosking has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Velasquez but great work by Hosking. Velasquez is looking for a sweep. Hosking looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Velasquez is avoiding damage well.

No, Velasquez has managed to free his arm - good work. Hosking is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Velasquez defends it well. Velasquez is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hosking jumps into side control! Velasquez is looking for a sweep. The strikes coming from Hosking are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Velasquez is breathing heavily. Hosking tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hosking is putting a hurting on Velasquez here, landing some big shots from side control. Velasquez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hosking off and has taken his back! Hosking tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Hosking sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Velasquez working Hosking over with strikes. Velasquez seems to be looking for submissions.
Velasquez seems to be working for a kimura but Hosking defends the submission attempt. Velasquez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hosking defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chicharito Velasquez dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Velasquez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hosking counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hosking connects with a knee to the head.
Hosking pulls guard effortlessly. Velasquez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hosking is keeping the position for now. Hosking is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velasquez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hosking is proving hard to escape from. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hosking wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Hosking is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Velasquez postures up in Hosking's guard and throws a big left but Hosking blocks it. Velasquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hosking tries to land a sweep but no joy. Velasquez wants to control from the top but Hosking keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hosking moves into the clinch successfully.
Hosking tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Velasquez smiles and moves away.
Chicharito Velasquez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hosking misses with a takedown and Velasquez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hosking! Velasquez looking for a guillotine from mount but Hosking is having none of it. Velasquez unloads with some shots from mount but Hosking bucks and avoids them well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hosking has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hosking! Velasquez looking for a sweep. Not yet Velasquez, not yet. Velasquez is working an open guard so Hosking takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Hosking closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hosking trying to mount his opponent but Velasquez defends it.

Velasquez looking for a sweep. Not yet Velasquez, not yet. Hosking is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hosking trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Velasquez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hosking can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hosking trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hosking trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Velasquez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hosking. Hosking must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Velasquez looking for a guillotine here but Hosking defends easily.
Hosking scoring with punches to the head and body. Velasquez controls Hosking momentarily but Hosking frees himself. Velasquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hosking gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Vincent Hosking will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Velasquez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hosking slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hosking trying to control but Velasquez is working from the bottom. Velasquez wants to sweep here but Hosking controlling him for the moment. Hosking postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hosking is looking to stand up but Velasquez won't let him. Hosking won't allow Velasquez to sweep him here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hosking got a little sloppy there for a moment and Velasquez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hosking has managed to get both his arms back between Velasquez's legs - danger averted. Hosking keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Velasquez's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hosking working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hosking trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hosking pushes down on Velasquez's leg and manages to get into half guard. Velasquez is trying to get back to full guard. Hosking drops an elbow to the side of Velasquez's head. Velasquez is trying to get back to full guard. Velasquez wants to control but Hosking is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hosking is trying to control the action in half guard but Velasquez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hosking throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
