Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Carboza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Motchi Ness!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ness tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carboza swivels and escapes.
Carboza tries a head kick but it misses.
Carboza throws a sloppy head kick
and Ness counters with a big head kick but Carboza shrugs it off.
Ness looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ness tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ness fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Luis Carboza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Motchi Ness.
Ness looks for a takedown but Carboza sprawls well.
Carboza throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Carboza lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Carboza throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ness counters with a leg kick.
Ness shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carboza sprawls well. Carboza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ness gets slowly back to his feet.
Carboza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ness avoids it really well and circles away.
Carboza pushes Ness away with a front kick.
Nice takedown defense from Ness. No joy for Carboza on that attempt.

Carboza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Carboza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carboza throws a head kick but Ness moves out of range.
Carboza plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Ness wants to clinch.
Carboza throws a series of punches but Ness moves out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Carboza. Ness shrugs it off though.
Ness looks gassed!
Ness blocks a head kick by Carboza.
Carboza takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A head kick by Ness misses
and Carboza counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Carboza delivers a nice body kick.
Carboza lands with a slapping head kick.
A head kick misses from Carboza.
Horrible takedown by Carboza or perhaps it was just good defense by Ness which made him look bad.
Carboza fails with the takedown.
Carboza throws a sloppy head kick and Ness moves out of range easily.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Carboza!
Carboza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice sprawl there from Carboza as Ness shoots in.
Carboza scores with a head kick. Ness tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ness takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Carboza pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ness back to the cage. Carboza follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Carboza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Carboza lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carboza looking to finish Ness with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ness!
Ness wants to hold on but Carboza pushes him away.
Carboza unloading with bombs!
Carboza in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carboza breaks from Ness's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Carboza postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ness looks a forlorn figure.

Ness bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Ness trying to control but Carboza is working from the bottom.

Carboza has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ness should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Carboza has tightened it up now! Ness should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Luis Carboza!
