Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cotes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cotes's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Victory. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Cotes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abe Patterson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cotes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Patterson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cotes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Patterson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Patterson. Cotes misses with some punches.

Nice body punch from Cotes. Cotes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Patterson successfully pulls guard.
Cotes with a flurry of punches that miss. Patterson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cotes is controlling him. Patterson is pushing Cotes's head away, looking to escape. Cotes manages to hold on to the position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patterson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The strikes coming from Cotes are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Patterson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Cotes throws a poor cross that misses
and Patterson moves into the clinch. Patterson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A nice right hand lands inside from Cotes. Cotes misses with some punches.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cotes uses from the top position. Patterson wants to get back to his feet but Cotes is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Patterson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cotes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cotes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Patterson wants to stand up but Cotes is controlling him. Cotes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Patterson's head. Cotes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cotes passes Patterson's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cotes is trying to control the action in half guard but Patterson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cotes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Patterson sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cotes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
