Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, You Lost!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with the combination.
Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Diaz connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Diaz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Diaz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like You Lost has been cut.
Diaz misses with a few strikes there.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Lost bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice takedown defense from Diaz. No joy for Lost on that attempt.
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lost circles away quickly and effectively.
Diaz misses with a wild combination.

Lost shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lost was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diaz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lost sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Diaz tries to hold on but Lost postures up.
Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lost on the ground.
Lost content just to control the position here.

Poor strikes thrown by Lost there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Diaz slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Lost is working for a submission of some sort.
Diaz is looking to control Lost's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted?
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diaz works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lost controls from within his opponent's guard.
Diaz wants to stand up but Lost is controlling him.

Lost drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Lost off! Lost jumps back into Diaz's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Lost from controlling successfully.
Diaz wants to sweep here but Lost controlling him for the moment.
Lost postures up.
Lost tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard.
Lost throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lost throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Lost trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz throws a front kick aimed at Lost's knee but Lost avoids it well.

Diaz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lost to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lost postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lost, into his guard.

Diaz is breathing heavily.

Lost has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.

Lost is adopting a defensive guard.
Diaz is looking to stand up but Lost won't let him.
Lost has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lost is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lost is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lost looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but You Lost will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on You Lost's cut.
That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Diaz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lost misses with a takedown attempt
and Diaz counters with a series of strikes. Lost will be more careful next time no doubt.
Diaz is looking to clinch but Lost is avoiding it.
Diaz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Lost circles away from the clinch attempt.

Diaz tries to sprawl but Lost drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Diaz tries to kick Lost off but Lost keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lost wants to free his trapped foot but Diaz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Diaz looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We're going to have a standup here because Drew Diaz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Diaz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lost blocks a head kick by Diaz.
Lost tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes.

Lost shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lost prevents Diaz from standing back up.

Lost is working for a kimura but Diaz is defending it quite comfortably.

Diaz wants to improve his position but Lost is controlling well.
Diaz misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Lost wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
