PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edward Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Bridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stout kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Slaughterhouse-Wack MC's. Jonny Bridge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bridge misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jonny Bridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bridge connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stout closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bridge circles away.

Stout changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bridge tries to avoid it but Stout manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bridge to the ground. Bridge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bridge tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stout paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stout shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stout showed some decent athleticism there.
Stout is looking to take a break and control but Bridge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stout really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stout ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stout no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bridge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stout swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bridge must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stout will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horrible takedown by Stout or perhaps it was just good defense by Bridge which made him look bad.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stout is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bridge is just riding it out for now. Stout eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bridge is trying to stand back up but Stout is controlling him

Stout trying to advance position but Bridge counters by regaining guard.
Bridge is trying to control the position but Stout postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bridge wants to stand but Stout is controlling the position.
Bridge bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stout's guard.

Stout looking for a guillotine here but Bridge defends easily.
Bridge stays in close to Stout's body and controls the position.

Stout has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bridge can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stout looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bridge trying to control the position from guard on top but Stout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bridge might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stout kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bridge tries to stand but Stout is controlling from the bottom.

Stout working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bridge has passed into half guard!
Bridge wants to pass to mount but Stout is defending the position.

Bridge takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bridge really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stout. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stout works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bridge is posturing up here but Stout has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bridge tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bridge has to tap! Slick submission there by Stout!
