Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Richardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richardson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is This Calling by All That Remains. Kent has chosen In The Morning-Ross Raiden & the RC as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Richardson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Kent!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Kent takes a swing at Richardson's ribcage but misses.
Richardson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kent scores a takedown into full mount!
Kent seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Richardson is holding on tight.
Richardson is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kent moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Richardson has worked his arm free - good work by Richardson!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richardson keeps working.

Kent taking a breather here.
Kent prevents Richardson from escaping the position.

Kent goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Richardson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kent but great work by Richardson.

Richardson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kent to his feet.
Richardson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Kent lands with a nice body punch.

Kent tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Richardson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Richardson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kent.
Kent tries to clinch but Richardson is having none of it.

Kent throws a predictable looking body shot
and Richardson counters with a left and a right that stings Kent.
Kent slips a jab from Richardson.
A head kick misses from Richardson.
Kent swings widly with a right hand
and Richardson counters with a one-two to the body.
Richardson keeps the fight on the outside.
Richardson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Clark Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Richardson throws a leg kick but Kent moved away.
Richardson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Richardson misses with a right hand
and Kent counters with a straight right hand.
Kent wants to clinch up but Richardson keeps it at a distance.
Kent blocks a head kick by Richardson.
Richardson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Richardson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kent counters with a nice body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Richardson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kent tries for a takedown but Richardson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Kent with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Richardson is desperately trying to improve his position but Kent has a good base and remains in mount.

Kent is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Richardson is surviving well by controlling Kent's body position as best he can.
Richardson can't escape the position.
Richardson wants to control but Kent is having none of it.
Kent wants to take Richardson's back here but Richardson is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Kent is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Richardson has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Richardson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Richardson is trying to maintain the position but Kent is very close to passing his half guard.
Richardson is doing well to control the position and prevent Kent from advancing to side control.

Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richardson keeps working.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kent seems to be looking for submissions.
Kent wants to take a breather but Richardson is having none of it.
Richardson gets back to full guard.

Kent drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kent jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kent drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Richardson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kent has Richardson in his guard.

Kent wants to control the position but Richardson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richardson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kent tries to get to full guard but Richardson has control of the leg.
Richardson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kent is refusing to be controlled, as Richardson sits in half guard.
Kent regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kent is trying to control the position but Richardson postures up.
Richardson wants to get up but he can't break Kent's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kent wants to sweep but no luck.

Kent working for a triangle but Richardson defends it easily.

Kent has his foot on Richardson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Richardson works his way back into a safe position though.
Kent is breathing heavily.
Richardson trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom.
Richardson wants to get up but he can't break Kent's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Richardson is one step ahead there.

Richardson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clark Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Richardson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kent counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kent looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richardson is fending him off so far but Kent persists. Nope, Richardson circles away and we're back to standing.

Kent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kent is pushing down on Richardson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Richardson is fighting to maintain full guard but Kent has managed to sneak the leg through.

Richardson is defending against the submission attempts here by Kent.

Kent is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Richardson defends it well.

Richardson is looking for a sweep. Kent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Richardson is looking to control Kent's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Richardson avoid being mounted?
Richardson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kent on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kent wants to free his trapped foot but Richardson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kent is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Richardson!

Kent wants to finish this one by submission but Richardson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Richardson is looking to improve his position but Kent isn't that keen on the idea.

Clark Kent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
