Upton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shutterbug. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Flair misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Upton throws a series of punches but Flair moves out of range. Flair lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Upton misses with a right hand enabling Flair to counter with a crisp jab. Upton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flair swivels and escapes. Flair lands a really nice looking cross but Upton seems unphased.
Flair uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Upton. Upton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Flair counters with a straight right hand. Upton misses with a right hand and Flair counters with a three punch combo that has Upton backing up. Upton nods at Flair to acknowledge the strikes. Upton avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Flair throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Upton on the side of the head. Flair throws a good cross that connects.

Nice shot lands for Flair. Flair misses with a hook. Upton shoots in but Flair avoids the takedown attempt easily. Flair tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Flair lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Upton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Upton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Flair's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Upton seems to be working for a kimura but Flair defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Upton passes to full mount! Flair looks gassed! Flair is looking to get to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Upton looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Upton punching from mount but Flair doing a good job of avoiding damage. Upton fails to move to back control. Flair takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flair defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Upton. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Upton swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
