Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Draft Beer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandros Nicolaou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 300 Violin Orchestra. Nicolaou has chosen Anubis as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicolaou throws a front kick that sends Beer stumbling back into the cage.

Nicolaou looks to land a combination but Beer avoids it well.

Beer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beer lands in his opponent's guard.
Beer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nicolaou has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Beer is working away from the top position though.
Beer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nicolaou tries to get to full guard but Beer has control of the leg.
Beer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Nicolaou really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nicolaou is looking to control Beer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nicolaou avoid being mounted?
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nicolaou is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Beer off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Beer controls the action.

Beer is persistently looking for the submission but Nicolaou is defending it well.

Nicolaou tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Nicolaou tries to lock up and control but Beer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Beer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Beer tries to control but Nicolaou wriggling away.

Beer has hold of Nicolaou's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nicolaou manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Nicolaou wants to control but Beer is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nicolaou is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicolaou swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Beer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nicolaou throws a lazy head kick
and Beer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Alexandros Nicolaou has been cut.
Both fighters circling a little - Beer finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Beer is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Nicolaou like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Nicolaou from another fist facial!
