The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva missing with punches from the bottom.

Silva is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Smith wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Smith dodges the punch combination from Silva.

Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smith smiles and moves away.
Smith gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Smith wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

Silva won't allow Smith to sweep him here.

Smith has Silva pulled in close to control his posture.
Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Cameron Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

It looks like Thiago Silva has been cut.
Smith feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith looks gassed!
Silva is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Silva has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Silva has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Silva pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!
