Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Prot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Malate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malate has chosen Wasakan as his entrance music. Matt Prot has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Archie Malate!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prot gets tackled into the cage by Malate. Malate maintains the clinch.
Prot has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Malate tightens his grip and picks Prot up, before dumping him to the ground. Prot manages to land in guard.
Malate postures up.
Prot wants to stand and escape but Malate is having none of it.
Malate has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Prot is proving hard to escape from.
Malate slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Malate remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Prot tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Prot really wants to buck Malate off and get back to his feet.

Malate jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Prot manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Malate just content to control the position.
Prot tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prot is looking to get back to his feet here but Malate is keeping cool and he's managed to take Prot's back.
Prot tries to escape but Malate has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Prot tries to escape the position.
Malate controlling the position well here. Prot rolled but Malate kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Prot trying to get back to his feet but Malate is in full control for now.
Malate wants to control but Prot is keeping busy.
Prot fending off the submission attempt from Malate.
Malate working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

I really don't envy Prot right now.
Malate cracks Prot with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Prot from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Malate punches the canvas rather than the man.
Malate is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Prot won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Malate off his unconscious opponent!
