Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Anichebe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anichebe comes to the cage accompanied by Give me hope. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Anichebe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xavier Mendez! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Anichebe. That did some damage! Mendez throws a head kick that misses. Anichebe throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Mendez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Anichebe.
Mendez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anichebe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Anichebe fails with a takedown attempt. Mendez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Mendez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Anichebe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mendez. Mendez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Anichebe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mendez. Mendez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Anichebe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anichebe. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mendez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Mendez looking for a sweep. Not yet Mendez, not yet. Anichebe thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Anichebe wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez controlling the position. Anichebe trying to control but Mendez is working from the bottom. Anichebe won't allow Mendez to sweep him here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Victor Anichebe has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Mendez misses with a right hand and Anichebe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mendez! Mendez doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Anichebe working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Mendez tries to lock up and control but Anichebe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez working to try and regain half guard.
Anichebe avoids the attempt from Mendez to control. Mendez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Anichebe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendez's face.
Anichebe trying to control but Mendez is having none of it. Anichebe prevents Mendez from getting the reversal. Anichebe looking to finish Mendez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mendez! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anichebe working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Mendez tries to reverse the position but Anichebe maintains control. Anichebe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendez's face.
Anichebe with good strikes from the mount here! Anichebe landing strikes, looking to finish! Anichebe cracks Mendez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mendez is desperately trying to improve his position but Anichebe has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anichebe putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Mendez looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anichebe scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Mendez?
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Anichebe cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Anichebe controlling the position easily from mount. Anichebe looking to finish Mendez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mendez! Mendez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anichebe connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Anichebe landing strikes from the mount. Anichebe is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mendez is forced to tap! Great finish!
