Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Emanuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emanuel comes to the cage accompanied by The Wizard by Black Sabbath. Power has chosen Fabolous, 50cent, Mase - Breathe Remix as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emanuel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Max Power has been cut.
Power bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Power trying to control the position but Emanuel is working away.
Emanuel keeps Power under control for a moment.
Power thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Power is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emanuel is just riding it out for now. Power eventually gives up the hold.
Emanuel is staying active underneath Power, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Power is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Emanuel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Power cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emanuel slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Power trying to control but Emanuel is working from the bottom.
Emanuel has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Power is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Emanuel.
Emanuel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Power looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Emanuel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Power is keen to just control but Emanuel is a slippery customer.

That was a close round but I would say that Matthew Emanuel will probably get the nod.

Power feints and then cracks Emanuel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Emanuel down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Emanuel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Power gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Power had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Emanuel defends it easily.

Power has his foot on Emanuel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emanuel works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Emanuel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthew Emanuel.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emanuel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
