Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregory Steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wilson Torres!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres stuffs the takedown attempt from Steele. Steele gets slowly back to his feet.
Steele ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Torres moves away.
A telegraphed right hand from Torres misses the target.
Steele slips a straight right by Torres.
Steele fails in his attempt to clinch.
Steele on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Torres throws a right hand that misses

and Steele counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Steele seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Torres is pulling down on Steele's head. It's preventing any offense from Steele, at least for the moment.
Torres wants to sweep but no luck.

Steele engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Wilson Torres has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Steele is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Torres lands a head shot.
Torres misses with a wild combination.
Steele misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Torres throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Torres as he jumps to the side.

Torres tries to clinch up but Steele circles away and keeps his distance.

Torres takes the fight into the clinch.

Steele gets control of Torres's arms and successfully pulls guard. Steele will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Steele will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Steele has his foot on Torres's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Torres works his way back into a safe position though.

Steele has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Torres is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Steele.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torres decides to stand up, so the ref orders Steele to his feet.
Steele really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Steele slips a jab and a cross from Torres.
Torres throws a left and a right that both miss
and Steele counters with a stiff right hand.
Torres is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steele.
Wilson Torres is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Torres pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Torres closes the distance looking to clinch

and Steele counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Torres is looking to reverse the position.
Steele misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Steele in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Steele postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Steele tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Steele fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Torres tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Torres is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Steele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Torres wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Steele is trying to get an arm triangle but Torres is defending well.
Steele lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Torres down.
Steele tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steele trying to control the position but Torres is working away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steele is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Torres is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Torres is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Torres throws a sloppy body shot
and Steele counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Torres misses with a combination
letting Steele counter with a right hand.
Steele with a poor takedown
and Torres cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Torres leaves Steele with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Torres scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Torres counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gregory Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Torres counters with a crisp one two that drops Steele! Torres thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Steele to his feet! Steele is in big trouble!

Wilson Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Torres fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Torres throws out a loose jab but Steele uses good head movement to avoid it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Torres is trying to force a seperation but Steele has the dominant position.
Torres tries to break free but Steele pushes him back against the cage.

Steele fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gregory Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Torres misses with a jab to the body

and Steele counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Steele.

Torres's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Torres counters by clinching up.
Torres slows down the pace here.
Steele tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Torres smiles and moves away.
Steele shoots in for a double leg but Torres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Torres throws a combination. Steele tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Steele tries to keep at a distance but Torres has taken the fight into the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Torres as the two fighters clinch.

Torres manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Steele, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Torres swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Torres takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steele throws a body punch but Torres moves out of range.
Torres looks to land a left hand but Steele moved out of range nicely.

and Steele counters with a left and a right that stings Torres.
Torres defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Steele.
Torres thuds his right hand into Steele's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Steele fails with the takedown.

Torres closes the distance and clinches.

Steele breaks from the clinch.
Torres misses with a wild body shot.
Torres lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steele circles away quickly and effectively.

and Steele decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Torres's guard.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Torres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Steele stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Torres has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gregory Steele overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Torres trying to keep a closed guard but Steele is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Steele tries for a takedown but Torres sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Wilson Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Torres wants to stand up but Steele is controlling him.

Steele is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Torres doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Steele.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steele with the ground and pound but Torres uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Steele passes Torres's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Torres regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Steele.
Steele throws a strike but Torres rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Steele is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Torres defends well.

Torres wants to stand but Steele is controlling his posture from full guard.

Steele is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Torres is aware though and is defending well.

Torres gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wilson Torres seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Torres cracks Steele with a good jab.

and Torres takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Torres scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
No joy there for Torres, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Steele has gone for a leg lock! Torres slips out almost immediately though and dives into Steele's guard.
Steele looking to hit a scissor sweep but Torres is one step ahead there.
Torres sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Steele's guard.

Torres looks to land a left hand but Steele moved out of range nicely.

Steele shoots in and drives through. Torres sprawls well.

Steele fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Torres avoids it really well and circles away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gregory Steele.
I think Steele has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
