Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Harold Sumrall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reodfsenior Castro! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castro circles away from the clinch attempt.
Castro defending well as Sumrall loads up on a big left hand. Castro shoots in looking for a takedown. Sumrall tries to sprawl out of it but Castro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sumrall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sumrall misses with a straight left. Castro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sumrall is defending against the submission attempts here by Castro.
Sumrall pushes Castro off looking to stand but Castro dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sumrall is not content to let Castro control the position. Castro looks gassed! Castro is looking for a kimura here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Sumrall throws a right and a left that Castro avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sumrall connects with a looping right hand.
Sumrall lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Castro is rocked! Sumrall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Castro moves away. Castro is still on wobbly legs! Can Sumrall finish him? Castro moves out of range of the body kick. Sumrall tries to clinch up. Castro seems to have recovered his senses. Sumrall misses with a few strikes there.
A choreographed right hand from Sumrall misses the target. A punch combination from Sumrall misses. Harold Sumrall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sumrall wants to clinch. Sumrall pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Castro uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sumrall. Sumrall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Castro scores a takedown into full mount! Castro is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sumrall can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sumrall tries to buck Castro off but he can't manage it. Sumrall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sumrall tries to get out of the position. Sumrall trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Castro wants to finish this one by submission but Sumrall is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Castro. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sumrall's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Castro looking to secure an arm triangle but Sumrall defends it well. Sumrall trying desperately to get to his feet.
Castro has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Sumrall is forced to tap!
