Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anus Saukko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katsu Higashikuni!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higashikuni doesn't manage to clinch there - Saukko circles away.
Higashikuni avoids a punch combination nicely.
Higashikuni slips a jab and a cross from Saukko.
Saukko looks to land a combination but Higashikuni avoids it well.

Higashikuni bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Higashikuni controls the position from side control.
Higashikuni works to advance to full mount. Saukko defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Higashikuni is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Saukko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Saukko shrugs it off.
You get the feeling that Saukko really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Higashikuni sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Higashikuni wants to finish this one by submission but Saukko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Higashikuni.
Saukko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saukko tries to get out of the position.
Saukko is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Higashikuni jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Saukko manages to avoid the submission attempt.
A lull in the action here.
Saukko is trying to get back to his feet.

Higashikuni throws a strike aimed at the side of Saukko's head but Saukko avoids it well.

Higashikuni has hold of Saukko's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Saukko seems comfortable defending it but Higashikuni has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Saukko is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Saukko is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Higashikuni couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Katsu Higashikuni!
