Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Peckerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Curtain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Peckerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Curtain! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peckerson shoots in looking for a takedown. Curtain tries to sprawl out of it but Peckerson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Curtain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Peckerson misses the body punch and Curtain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Peckerson misses with a body shot.
Peckerson shoots in but no luck this time. Peckerson defending well as Curtain loads up on a big left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peckerson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Peckerson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Curtain looks to score with a jab to the body but Peckerson is just out of range. Peckerson misses with a shot to the body and Curtain makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Curtain avoids the body shot from Peckerson.

and Peckerson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Curtain pulls Peckerson in close to prevent any damage. Curtain is trying to keep Peckerson in close.
Curtain might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Peckerson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Peckerson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Peckerson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Curtain looking to control.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Kevin Curtain hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Peckerson shoots in but Curtain avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Curtain counters with a nice uppercut. Curtain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peckerson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Curtain or perhaps it was just good defense by Peckerson which made him look bad. Curtain takes a swing at Peckerson's ribcage but misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Curtain. Peckerson does a little dance to reset his feet. Peckerson misses with a shot to the body and Curtain counters with a shoot takedown. Peckerson fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Peckerson lands a nice short elbow.
It looks like Kevin Curtain has been cut. Curtain is trying to control but can't.

Curtain slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peckerson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Peckerson throwing strikes but missing. Peckerson with a flurry of punches that miss. Peckerson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. That's three minutes gone in the round. Curtain is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Peckerson defends well. Curtain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Peckerson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peckerson throwing strikes but missing. Curtain has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Peckerson preventing the sweep. Peckerson with a flurry of punches that miss. Peckerson postures up in Curtain's guard and throws a big left but Curtain blocks it. Peckerson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Peckerson cracks Curtain with a solid left hand. Curtain had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peckerson defends it easily. Curtain pulls Peckerson in close to prevent any damage. Curtain looking for a triangle here. Peckerson is fighting it but it looks tight! Curtain pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Peckerson is tapping out - this one is all over!
