Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DrewB Down!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Hogan!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hogan showed some decent athleticism there.
Well, if Hogan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Down is trying to stand back up but Hogan is controlling him
Hogan tries to pass to full mount but Down defends it.
Hogan prevents Down from improving his position.
Down is working hard here to advance position.
Hogan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Down. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hogan in particular looking to stall.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Down moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikey Hogan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

so Hogan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

and Hogan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Down's guard.
Down looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hogan is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Down lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hogan!

Down throwing strikes here but Hogan is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Hogan is looking to improve his position but Down isn't that keen on the idea.

Down jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Mikey Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Down looks to land a left hand but Hogan moved out of range nicely.

Hogan manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Hogan, under a barage of strikes from Down.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hogan is trying to get back to full guard.
Down trying to pass the guard but Hogan defending well.

Hogan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Down working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hogan's thigh. Hogan counters though and makes it back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Down with a flurry of punches that miss.
Down thows a big elbow that misses.
Down trying to move into half guard but instead Hogan has managed to sweep!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Down is trying to keep Hogan in close.

Mikey Hogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hogan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
