Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Hathaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Scottie Redd!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redd closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hathaway to the mat! Hathaway manages to get full guard.
Redd throwing strikes from guard but Hathaway blocks nicely.
Hathaway tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Redd thows a big elbow that misses.
Redd tries to free his leg and advance position but Hathaway is retaining full guard.

Redd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hathaway looking for a sweep. Not yet Hathaway, not yet.
Hathaway is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Redd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Redd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hathaway has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Redd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Redd won't allow Hathaway to sweep him here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hathaway is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hathaway knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Redd on the ground.
Redd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Redd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Redd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hathaway works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Redd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hathaway is keeping the position for now.
Hathaway keeping moving, preventing Redd from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hathaway fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Redd looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nice sprawl there from Hathaway as Redd shoots in.
Hathaway connects with a leg kick. Redd looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hathaway stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hathaway wants it to stay on the feet.
Redd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hathaway counters with a straight right hand.
Daniel Hathaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scottie Redd.

Redd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Redd sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hathaway defending well though.
Hathaway works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hathaway is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redd is pushing down on Hathaway's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hathaway is fighting to maintain full guard but Redd has managed to sneak the leg through.
Redd wants to free his trapped foot but Hathaway is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Redd wants to control but Hathaway is keeping him busy.

Redd in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hathaway tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Redd!
