Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrey Kocherga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, William Harrison! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison shoots for a takedown but Kocherga saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Harrison misses with a takedown attempt - Kocherga sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Harrison shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kocherga defends it nicely. Andrey Kocherga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Harrison. Harrison fails with a takedown attempt. Harrison fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kocherga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harrison paws at him with a jab and circles away. Harrison throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kocherga tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harrison is in Kocherga's guard. Kocherga has his feet on Harrison's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Harrison looks gassed! Harrison fails with the takedown and Kocherga counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kocherga. Kocherga lands a body shot. Kocherga with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like William Harrison has been cut. Kocherga lands an elbow just above Harrison 's eye.

Harrison keeps the fight on the outside. Kocherga fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Harrison, pushing him back against the cage. A knee to the head by Kocherga.

Kocherga misses with a knee to the head. Harrison blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kocherga lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Harrison can't get the takedown.
Nice elbow from Kocherga. Harrison goes for a takedown attempt but Kocherga pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kocherga fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Harrison, pushing him back against the cage. Kocherga lands an elbow that stopped Harrison in his tracks for a moment. Kocherga gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. With the fighters up against the cage, Kocherga throws an elbow but misses. Kocherga with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Harrison drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kocherga gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kocherga is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Harrison is keeping busy. Harrison has hold of one of Kocherga's legs. Kocherga is fighting the takedown attempt but Harrison gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harrison won't allow Kocherga to get back to his feet. Harrison controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Harrison's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Kocherga wants to stand up but Harrison is controlling him. Harrison controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up. William Harrison was stalling too much, according to the referee. Horrible takedown by Harrison or perhaps it was just good defense by Kocherga which made him look bad. Harrison throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kocherga tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harrison is in Kocherga's guard. Kocherga is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harrison is controlling him. Harrison scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harrison controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kocherga avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harrison slips nicely into half guard. Harrison wants to pass the guard but Kocherga is defending well. Harrison sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kocherga wants to get back to his feet. Harrison takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Harrison throwing shots but Kocherga is blocking nicely. Harrison seems to be working for a kimura but Kocherga defends the submission attempt.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Kocherga is trying to stand back up but Harrison is controlling him
Harrison has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kocherga defend it? Harrison steps over the head and cranks it - Kocherga is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Harrison!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). William Harrison!
