The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus throws a big shot that misses.
Malakh tries to clinch but Marcus moves away
and Marcus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marcus looks to throw the jab but Malakh is out of range.

and Marcus counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Marduk Malakh has been cut.
Malakh tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Marcus counters with a takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Malakh is pushing Marcus's head away, looking to escape. Marcus manages to hold on to the position though.
Marcus in side control lands a decent elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
