Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Arona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobral comes to the cage accompanied by captain jack sparrow. Renato Sobral could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ricardo Arona's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Sobral! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Arona! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Arona.
Sobral fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Arona to the ground. Sobral is now in Arona's guard. Arona is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Arona throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sobral drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Arona dives on top into guard. Arona is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sobral controls Arona momentarily but Arona frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arona looking to pass the guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Arona wants to control from the top but Sobral keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sobral looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Arona is not content to let Sobral control the position. Sobral is looking for submissions but instead, Arona has regained full guard.
Arona keeping moving, preventing Sobral from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arona is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sobral is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Arona is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Arona has escaped and now he's on top! Arona stands and throws Sobral's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Arona moves into full mount! Sobral gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Renato Sobral will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Arona shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sobral napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sobral manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Arona stalling. Sobral tries to get to full guard but Arona has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobral actively working from the bottom here. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sobral wants to improve his position but Arona is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Arona is trying to control. Sobral wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ricardo Arona. Sobral misses with a takedown attempt and Arona counters with a thumping low kick. Sobral shoots and misses and Arona counters with a big head kick but Sobral shrugs it off. Sobral with a poor takedown and Arona counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Sobral. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sobral tries for a takedown. No joy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobral drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Arona manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sobral has Arona in his guard. Arona tries to free his leg and advance position but Sobral is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Arona showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Oh, Arona has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arona controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Arona gets to mount! Sobral was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Sobral regains half guard. Arona is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Arona is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ricardo Arona wasn't active enough on the ground. Sobral closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Arona to the mat! Arona manages to get full guard. Sobral wants to control from the top but Arona keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renato Sobral clearly takes that round. That's time! Sobral's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sobral shoots and misses and Arona counters with a shoot takedown. Sobral fights it but they end up in guard. Sobral bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Arona's guard. Arona working a defensive guard but Sobral passes into half guard.

Arona looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Sobral is defending well. Arona quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Sobral has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Arona celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
