Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nobunaga Shirow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jp Flaim! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shirow misses with a head kick.

It looks like Nobunaga Shirow has been cut. Shirow uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Flaim. Shirow connects with a body shot. A telegraphed right hand from Shirow misses the target. Flaim blocks a head kick by Shirow.
Flaim misses with a takedown and Shirow counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flaim throws an off balance right hand
and Flaim takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Flaim tries for a takedown but Shirow circles away easily and Shirow counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Flaim is lucky that one didn't land flush. Shirow tries a head kick but it misses.
Shirow tests Flaim's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shirow throws a right and a left that Flaim avoids nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flaim takes a body punch but keeps moving. Shirow lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shirow. Nobunaga Shirow is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shirow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Flaim moves away. Shirow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shirow connects with the punch. Flaim walks into a stiff left hand from Shirow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shirow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flaim paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shirow lands a jab to Flaim's midsection. Shirow misses with the combination.

Flaim shoots and misses and Shirow counters with a left to the body. Nobunaga Shirow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jp Flaim. Flaim looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flaim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shirow. Shirow lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Flaim sprawling to the canvas. Shirow follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Flaim hang on?

It looks like Jp Flaim has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shirow is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shirow is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nobunaga Shirow dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Shirow wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Shirow lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Flaim swats away the attempt to clinch by Shirow. Flaim walks into a jab.

Shirow is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Flaim tries for a takedown but Shirow circles away easily and Shirow counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flaim takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Flaim keeps the fight on the outside. That kick from Shirow tenderised Flaim's leg. Flaim is trying to keep his angry face on. Flaim is breathing heavily. Flaim tries for a takedown but Shirow circles away easily and Shirow counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Shirow. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shirow. Shirow tries to clinch but Flaim moves out of range. Flaim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shirow counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Flaim down! Shirow is looking to finish but Flaim is intelligently defending himself. Flaim is still in real trouble! Can Shirow finish him? Nobunaga Shirow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jp Flaim. Shirow postures up in Flaim's guard and throws a big left but Flaim blocks it. Flaim seems to have recovered his senses. Shirow drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shirow seems to have locked his on tight now - Flaim screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shirow, as he picks up the win!
