Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marko Paleka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roland Deschain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paleka comes to the cage accompanied by Wild Boys. Marko Paleka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deschain leaves Paleka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Paleka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Deschain throws a sloppy head kick and Paleka counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Paleka. Deschain goes for a takedown in the clinch but Paleka prevents it.
Paleka keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Deschain's efforts to push away. Paleka is trying to maintain a safe position but Deschain gets an underhook and turns Paleka into the cage. Deschain using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Paleka has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Deschain has had enough of the clinch but Paleka keeps him there for the moment. Deschain wants a takedown.
Deschain lands an elbow that stopped Paleka in his tracks for a moment. Deschain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Paleka has managed to clinch.

Paleka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Deschain throws a lazy head kick and Paleka moves into the clinch. Deschain working hard to break the clinch. Paleka tries to throw a body punch but Deschain avoids it by throwing Paleka back against the cage. Paleka breaks from the clinch.
Deschain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paleka sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Deschain somewhat. Marko Paleka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roland Deschain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deschain closes the distance and pushes Paleka back into the cage. Deschain successfully pulls guard.
Paleka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Deschain wants to stand and escape but Paleka is having none of it. Paleka forces his way into half guard. Paleka thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Paleka is keen to just control but Deschain is a slippery customer. Paleka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Deschain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Paleka trying to control but Deschain is working from the bottom. Deschain has his hands on Paleka's head, controlling the position. Paleka trying to control the position from guard on top but Deschain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Marko Paleka wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Paleka's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Paleka duly obliges. Roland Deschain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deschain leaves Paleka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Deschain throws a head kick that misses. Deschain closes the distance but Paleka moves to the side and Paleka counters with a head kick. Paleka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Deschain tries to avoid it but Paleka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Deschain to the ground. Deschain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Paleka is breathing heavily. Deschain tries a head kick but it misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paleka keeps the fight on the outside. Deschain misses with a kick to the body and Paleka counters with a nice low kick that buckles Deschain's knee momentarily. Deschain tries to clinch up but Paleka circles away and keeps his distance. Deschain doesn't succeed with the takedown and Paleka counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Deschain flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Paleka prevents Deschain from improving his position. Deschain keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Paleka wants to stand but Deschain has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Deschain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Paleka's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Paleka's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Marko Paleka will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That'll leave a bruise. Deschain should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Deschain working for a guillotine from mount but Paleka is in no mood to give up.

Deschain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Paleka is looking to escape. Paleka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deschain on the ground. Deschain unloads with some shots from mount but Paleka bucks and avoids them well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paleka is squirming around, avoiding Deschain's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Paleka taking shots to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Deschain has control of Paleka's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Paleka regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Paleka tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Deschain throws a lazy head kick and Paleka counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Deschain! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Paleka is looking to stand but Paleka has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Paleka gets slowly back to his feet. Deschain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Deschain fails in his attempt to clinch. Deschain scoring well with a low kick there.

And that's the end of the fight! Roland Deschain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Deschain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
