Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Jonness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silva acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Jonness! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wanderlei Silva! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonness fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage. Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jonness drags the fight down to the ground.
Jonness is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Silva has gone for a leg lock! Jonness slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard. Jonness controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Joe Jonness has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jonness gets caught napping as Silva dives in and scores a takedown. Jonness manages to retain guard. Jonness is adopting a defensive guard. Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jonness dives on top into guard. Silva keeping full guard, as Jonness tries to pass. Jonness seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jonness tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Jonness. Silva shoots and misses and Jonness counters with a right hand to the body. Jonness changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Jonness manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jonness tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jonness counters with a two punch combo. Joe Jonness has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Silva. Silva with a lazy takedown attempt and Jonness decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Jonness trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jonness controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jonness stopping the sweep attempt from Silva.
We're going to have a standup here because Joe Jonness wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Jonness lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jonness.
It looks like Wanderlei Silva has been cut. Silva with a poor takedown and Jonness counters with a takedown into side control. Silva looks gassed! Jonness tries to get to his feet but Silva is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Jonness in his guard. Jonness will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jonness seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jonness wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jonness's guard. Silva preventing the sweep. Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jonness is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Silva pulls Jonness in to control the position. Jonness has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jonness controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Jonness wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva misses with a takedown and Jonness counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Silva is breathing heavily. Jonness slows the pace down in half guard. Silva is trying to maintain the position but Jonness is very close to passing his half guard.

Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jonness sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. Silva shoots and misses and Jonness counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jonness controlling the position easily from mount. Jonness working Silva over with strikes here. Silva wants to control but Jonness is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silva tries to lock up and control but Jonness gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jonness lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Silva hang on? Jonness sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Jonness showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jonness has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
