Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vic Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuyo Hayate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mackey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Shield. Vic Mackey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hayate shoots in and bounces Mackey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hayate throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mackey works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hayate throws and elbow that misses. Mackey uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hayate's guard. Nice move by Mackey!

Hayate working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mackey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mackey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hayate has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mackey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hayate.

Hayate drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hayate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mackey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mackey tries to get out of the position.

Hayate looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mackey has picked Hayate up and slammed him! Hayate can't keep hold of the triangle and Mackey manages to pass to side control!

Mackey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hayate does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mackey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hayate takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mackey lands a nice hook to Hayate's body. Hayate takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mackey feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hayates jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hayate takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tatsuyo Hayate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Mackey counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vic Mackey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsuyo Hayate.
Good standup being displayed there by Mackey as he connects with a hook.
Mackey lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hayate is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mackey wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mackey dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hayate seems to have recovered his senses.

Hayate gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Hayate tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Mackey is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Hayate buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Hayate!! Hayate is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Mackey throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
