2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Gorodetsky! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.

Kaluma gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kaluma throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gorodetsky with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kaluma looking for a sweep. Not yet Kaluma, not yet. Kaluma wants to stand but Gorodetsky is controlling the position. Kaluma is trying to control the position but Gorodetsky postures up.
Gorodetsky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gorodetsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaluma has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gorodetsky has managed to get both his arms back between Kaluma's legs - danger averted. Kaluma throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Kaluma wants to finish this one by submission but Gorodetsky is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kaluma. Kaluma landing strikes from the mount and Gorodetsky is in trouble! Gorodetsky tries to reverse the position but Kaluma maintains control. BOOM! Kaluma connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Kaluma lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kaluma is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kaluma avoids the attempt from Gorodetsky to control. Gorodetsky takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Gorodetsky is looking to get to half guard. Kaluma has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kaluma has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gorodetsky's face.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gorodetsky can do anything to dispel that myth. Gorodetsky looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gorodetsky is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kaluma scoring with strikes but Gorodetsky is staying in there. Kaluma postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gorodetsky looks a forlorn figure.

Gorodetsky is rocked! Kaluma really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kaluma connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Gorodetsky is still in real trouble! Can Kaluma finish him? Kaluma is landing with some decent strikes but Gorodetsky is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kaluma drops a big elbow. That's hurt Gorodetsky! More shots from Kaluma and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kiko Kaluma! Kiko Kaluma retains his bantamweight title!
