Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kooch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Methuselah Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kooch comes to the cage accompanied by Rusko - Tru Powwa. The crowd seem to be enjoying Couture's choice of entrance music: wait, nvmnd! thats just the tapping of his cane as he walks.. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture misses with a head kick.
Kooch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Couture tries to lock up and control but Kooch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kooch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Couture's waist but Couture gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kooch off to one side.

Couture lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kooch!
Couture is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Methuselah Couture was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Couture misses with the body kick
and Kooch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Couture won't be happy with that.
Couture is not content to let Kooch control the position.
Kooch is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Couture is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kooch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Couture, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture stops Kooch from passing to mount.
Couture holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Couture tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Kooch easily slips into full mount!
Kooch wants to take Couture's back here but Couture is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kooch avoids the attempt from Couture to control.
Kooch tries to take Couture's back but instead Couture uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Mike Kooch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Couture keeping hold of Kooch's head, controlling as best he can.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kooch here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

and Kooch counters with a shoot takedown. Couture fights it but they end up in guard.
Couture pulls Kooch in close to prevent any damage.
Kooch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Couture working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kooch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kooch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Kooch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
