Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keembo Sluce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrey Fokin! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fokin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sluce lands a takedown into guard.
Fokin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sluce drops back looking for a leg! Fokin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fokin manages to kick Sluce off! Sluce jumps back into Fokin's guard. Sluce wants to control from the top but Fokin keeps moving. Fokin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sluce gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sluce working some strikes from top position. Fokin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sluce can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sluce passes Fokin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sluce is looking for a kimura here.
Sluce scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sluce is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fokin defends it well. Sluce content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Sluce is trying to work for a kimura but Fokin is defending well.
Sluce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fokin keeps working. Fokin tries to get to full guard but Sluce has control of the leg. Sluce is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fokin looking for submissions off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sluce is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fokin has managed to free his arm - good work. Fokin trying to control but Sluce postures up.
Fokin is not content to let Sluce control the position. Fokin tries to get to full guard but Sluce has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sluce is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fokin defends it well. Fokin has hold of Sluce's hands but Sluce slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sluce moves into full mount! Fokin won't be happy about that!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fokin has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Fokin tries to escape but Sluce has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Sluce working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Fokin is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Sluce has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Fokin taps out!
