Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max McMillen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John The Gun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Gun misses with a series of wild punches.
McMillen shoots in and bounces The Gun off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The Gun wants to get back to his feet but McMillen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. McMillen preventing the sweep. The Gun keeping busy on the bottom but McMillen has passed one foot through into half guard.
The Gun kicks McMillen off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMillen dodges the punch combination from The Gun.
John The Gun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McMillen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. McMillen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The Gun is trying to maintain the position but McMillen is very close to passing his half guard. The Gun is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McMillen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McMillen's back! The Gun landing with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Gun looking to break McMillen's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. McMillen remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise The Gun will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McMillen trying to get back to his feet but The Gun is in full control for now. The Gun missing with punches from the back. The referee is taking a good look at McMillen as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from The Gun!
McMillen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if The Gun gets his way!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The Gun with a lazy takedown attempt and McMillen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Gun's guard. McMillen throwing strikes from guard but The Gun blocks nicely. The Gun wants to improve his position but instead McMillen has moved into half guard.
The Gun kicks off McMillen and gets to his feet. The Gun misses with a wild combination.
McMillen misses with a takedown attempt - The Gun sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McMillen fails with the takedown and The Gun counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McMillen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McMillen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's three minutes gone in the round. McMillen cracks The Gun with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The Gun tries to lock up and control but McMillen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The Gun is looking to improve his position but McMillen isn't that keen on the idea. McMillen gets a takedown into half guard. McMillen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. The Gun gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The Gun is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McMillen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Gun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McMillen's guard. The Gun wants to stand but McMillen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The Gun drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McMillen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now The Gun has McMillen in his guard. The Gun throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

McMillen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The Gun misses with a jab, cross combination.
The Gun throws a combination that misses and McMillen counters by clinching up. The Gun is trying to break free. The Gun is trying to break free. McMillen keeps control of The Gun as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McMillen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McMillen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. McMillen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McMillen throwing strikes but missing. The Gun has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McMillen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The Gun manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McMillen seems comfortable defending it but The Gun has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! McMillen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! McMillen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but The Gun couldn't care less - he's delighted!
