Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Methuselah Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couture comes to the cage accompanied by wait, nvmnd! thats just the tapping of his cane as he walks.. Potter has chosen Biggie Smalls - Victory as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Couture tries to sprawl but Potter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Potter wants to stand up but Couture has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Couture is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Couture keeping control of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Couture misses with an attempted mid kick.

Potter blocks a jab.
Couture swings for the body but Potter moves out of range.
Couture keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Potter throws a looping overhand right but Couture ducks down to avoid it.

Potter tries to move into range but Couture moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Methuselah Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Couture rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Potter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Potter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Potter counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Couture tries to land a front kick but Potter steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Couture rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

Couture missing with a left hand there. Potter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Couture closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Couture lands in his opponent's guard.
Couture will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Potter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Potter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Couture's guard now.

Couture is trying to keep Potter in close.
Potter wants to get up but he can't break Couture's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Potter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Gray Potter has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Couture fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Potter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Potter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Couture.
Couture fakes the leg kick and cracks Potter in the body.
Potter is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Couture rather than just go for the knockout.

Potter walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Couture thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Potter if he has to take too many more of those.

Couture ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potter moves away.

and Couture counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Couture looks to land a left hand but Potter moved out of range nicely.
Couture throws a hook but Potter blocks it.
Potter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Couture stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Couture lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Couture is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Couture shoots in and drives through. Potter sprawls well.

Couture feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Potters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gray Potter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Potter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Couture really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Couture dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Couture ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potter moves away.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Couture.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Potter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gray Potter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Potter tries to hold on but Couture pushes him away.
Potter prevents Couture from taking his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Methuselah Couture.
I think Couture has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
