Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and blunt damage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that blunt damage was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Doe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, blunt damage! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doe swats away the attempt to clinch by damage. Doe fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Doe looks for a takedown but damage sprawls well. Doe misses with a jab, cross combination.
damage misses with an attempted mid kick.
Doe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Doe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with damage, pushing him back against the cage. damage misses with a knee strike.
damage wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Doe has him pressed against the cage. damage tries to pull guard but Doe holds him up against the cage and eventually damage drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doe wants to get back to striking at distance but damage won't allow it.
Doe keeps control of damage as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. damage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Doe fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

damage wants to sweep here but Doe controlling him for the moment. Doe trying to control but damage is working from the bottom. Doe pushes down on damage's leg and manages to get into half guard. damage looking for submissions off his back. Doe trying to pass the guard but damage defending well. damage is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Doe pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Doe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but damage moves away. damage tries for a takedown but Doe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. damage instigates a clinch. damage tries to pull guard but Doe won't allow it.

damage had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Doe is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. damage Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Doe's back instead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. damage has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Doe is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

damage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Doe fending off the submission attempt from damage. damage lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Let's see if damage can do anything to dispel that myth.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Doe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. damage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Doe is looking to clinch but damage is avoiding it.
