Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nalle Karhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Knogen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nalle Karhu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Knogen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karhu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Karhu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Knogen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Karhu asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Knogen is trying to control Karhu's posture but Karhu avoids it.
Karhu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Knogen's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Karhu darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knogen is looking for a sweep. Karhu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Karhu is controlling the pace.
Karhu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Knogen for as long as he can get away with.
Karhu passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Knogen!

Karhu is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Knogen has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Karhu goes for an armbar but Knogen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Knogen.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karhu wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Karhu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Knogen tries to get to full guard but Karhu has control of the leg.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Karhu checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Knogen throws a right hand that Karhu ducks under and follows up with a left that Karhu also avoids with ease.

Knogen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Karhu is able to avoid easily.

Karhu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

It looks like Richard Knogen has been cut.

Karhu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Knogen's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Karhu connects with a nice short shot to Knogen's temple.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Karhu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Knogen throws a leg kick but Karhu moved away.
Karhu scores with a one two! Knogen had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Karhu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
