The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Depaoli to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Depaoli throws a strike but Leon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Leon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Depaoli looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Depaoli tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Leon is pushing down on Depaoli's leg trying to pass to half guard. Depaoli is fighting to maintain full guard but Leon has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Depaoli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Leon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Leon thows a huge punch but Depaoli dodges it nicely.
Depaoli is trying to get back to full guard.
Leon is thwarting Depaoli's attempts to control the position.

Depaoli wants to get back to full guard but Leon has passed into side control.
Depaoli really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leon is looking to take a break and control but Depaoli is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Depaoli tries to bench press Leon off him but Leon keeps the position.

Depaoli is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Depaoli tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Leon presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
